Seminole County Response to Homeless Children and Families
Throughout the fall of 2011, the Seminole County Faith Community will be introducing several ways that you can assist with the 600-plus homeless families in Seminole County, all with school-aged children (watch this "60 Minutes" report to learn more). One very special way that you can make a significant difference would be to train as a case manager, coming alongside family members as they move towards self-sufficiency.We are looking for anyone interested in helping out in this capacity! Various opportunities are being made available for people at all skill and experience levels. Whether you have related skills, degrees and experience, or have no experience but are willing to be trained, you are needed! This is a big job, and for the right person, it could be one of your most memorable experiences.
Please join us in our efforts and be part of the Seminole County Faith Response to Homeless Children and Families. Anyone who is interested in helping serve a homeless family will have a place to plug in. It may be as simple as learning about community resources, or it may involve training a family advocate or more in-depth specialized training to serve as a case manager assisting local providers already serving homeless families.
